We used the ground beef we bought in bulk from Sam's Club.  We made this with fresh meat from the store and then vacuumed sealed portions of it and placed it in the Basement Freezer.  By the way, Sloppy Joe's are also good to make using frozen ground beef.

Before adding it into the system we created a Custom Storage Location "Basement Freezer" and created a custom store - "Sam's Club".

Then we added the Homemade Item into the system.  We created 3 packages with 3 servings per package.  We specified that it was in the Basement Freezer and we gave it an expiration date of 6 months from today.

We can now search under What's in the Freezer and this item will display.  It will show all of the data we entered, including the expiration date.
